Update

Preserves old data; creates a new row.

Requires a new Effective Start Date.

For the old record it will append the effective_end_date

Clear history of "from" and "to."

Ex:

Change in status (Promotion).

Need to the syntax

sysdate between Effective Start Date and effective_end_date

to get most recent records

vs

Correction

Overwrites existing data; no new row.

Keeps the existing Effective Start Date.

No visible history of the change in the UI.

Fixing a mistake (Typo).
